You are passionate about helping people and driven to build positive connections within every interaction. You excel in customer-facing roles and thrive within a fast-paced, call centre environment. You are able to maintain composure and stay focused during high pressure situations, remain adaptable when faced with change, and demonstrate resiliency at all times.

The Role:

As a 211 Human Servicesl Specialist, you are the first point of contact for participants calling the 211 line for support, resources and information on health and human services. You will be responsible for listening to the needs of the caller, navigating the internal database, and providing referrals that align with the caller’s unique circumstances. You will use your expertise, knowledge and skills to gather information, offer support and suggest resources within the community. Working within a team of highly trained professionals, you play a key role in identifying and connecting individuals to the right resources at the right time. You will be challenged with a multitude of situations and issues ranging from individuals calling in crisis, through to general questions about community supports or services. You will be involved in community outreach efforts to enhance 211 knowledge of community groups, local businesses and social service providers.

Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or a related field preferred; a two-year degree plus experience in a social service setting also considered.

Fluency in English is required. Fluency in Spanish, Hmong, Russian or Somali is a plus.
