Description

Our vibrant company is looking for an Android Developer to join our highly motivated and talented technology team based in our riverside offices in Battersea, London.

LifeWorks is a Global Employee Engagement Platform (EEP) serving 50,000 companies with over 15 million users. Built around a scalable PHP/Zend API and hosted on Amazon Web Services, LifeWorks is delivered to users through native Android and iOS applications, as well as a responsive web application.

You will join a friendly, expert team helping to evolve and improve the LifeWorks Android application. You will see your hard work and effort realised regularly with Google Play store updates every 2 weeks.

You will work in a fast-paced, fun and rewarding agile product development environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop technical solutions to evolve, improve, refactor and maintain the Android product
  • Review the code of your peers to ensure high standards are maintained
  • Work with Designers and UX to provide a modern and creative user interface
  • Collaborate with the API team to ensure the needs of the platform are met
  • Participate in technical discussions with the wider project team(s)
  • Be an ‘Android expert’ and share your knowledge
Experience
  • 3 years of commercial Android development
  • Knowledge of OOP, Design Patterns and Android patterns
  • Android Studio and the gradle build system
  • Testing and testing frameworks
  • Agile / Scrum environment
  • Familiarity with Jira or similar issue tracking system
  • Git or similar version control system
  • Computer Science degree or relevant industry experience
Desired Experience
  • AppCompat, Dagger 2, Retrofit, RxJava, RxAndroid, Realm, Autovalue
  • CI systems such as Jenkins
  • Open source and/or community exposure (Stackoverflow, github)
  • A portfolio of applications published in the Google Play store
  • Knowledge of other mobile platforms such as iOS or mobile Web
